19th GREEK CHESS SOLVING CHAMPIONSHIP
CHALKIDA, SUNDAY 12 APRIL 2020

The Chess Academy of Chalkida “Palamedes of Evia” announces the 19^th Greek Chess Solving Championship.

Place:

The competition will take place on Sunday 12^th April 2020 at 11.00 a.m. in Chalkida (the picturesque capital of Evia, 75 Km from Athens) at the Building of the Regional Prefecture of Evia.

Format:

The competition consists of two rounds of 90 minutes each. In each round there will be six problems as follows: #2, #3, #N, Study, H#, S#.

The problems will be chosen by Ioannis Garoufalidis who will also be the director and judge of the competition.

Prizes:

Winners will be awarded cups and medals. Symbolic money prizes will also be awarded as follows: 1st place 100 euros, 2nd place 80 euros, 1st Greek Solver 70 euros.

World Solving Cup 2019/2020 (WSC):

The championship is part of the World Solving Cup 2019/2020 (WSC)

Conditions to foreign solvers:

To a limited number of foreign solvers the organization committee of the championship will offer hosting conditions as follows:

1. Bed and breakfast for 2 nights in a hotel, in double room.
2. One free of charge meal.
3. Travel expenses from/to the Athens airport to/from to Chalkida (urban railway or bus).

(Note: Former World Champion Piotr Murdzia has already confirmed his participation)
